Horse racing in general has risen at quite an alarming rate over the last generation with millions of pounds now on offer for the winners of some of the Grade 1 races currently on the calendar and even though it is not everybody’s cup of tea a day at the races is a thoroughly enjoyable day out whether you are gambling or not.
When it comes to having a bet I am one of them punters that really checks over the form of all the horses, jockeys and trainers in each particular race before making a selection as I do not want to just throw money away.

Over the jump’s which is my favourite form out of the two codes I seem to do a lot better than over the flat. Over the lower graded jump races I ALWAYS follow horses that are local to the track and has a trainer that has won there before who has a regular jockey on board his horses. Over the Group 1-3 races it is more tricky with many top trainers vying for the win and many top horses battling it out so that is why lower grade betting always puts me in a profit rather than scratching my head wishing what if in the higher graded races.
