Ladbroke.com - This weekend’s games have to go down as one of the most boring Football weekend’s that I can ever remember. A total of 14 goals from 10 games is certainly the lowest number of Goals I can ever recall being scored in any Weekend of Football since I have been following the great game which is over 25 years now.

The big game at the Weekend witnessed Aston Villa taking on Champions Manchester United at Villa Park but as a contest it proved to be a very boring 0-0 draw with Defences well on top and to be quite honest if they were still playing now I doubt any of them would have scored.

Chelsea’s home game with Newcastle and Liverpool’s home game with Fulham also proved to be extremely boring with few goal scoring chances and both these games also finished goalless with both Clubs (Chelsea, Liverpool) missing out on a golden chance to move clear in the title race.

Arsenal continued their woeful form and succumbed to a heavy 3-0 loss away at Man-City and could easily have been more if City’s strikers had been a bit more deadly in front of goal.

The best match of the day came at Fratton Park with Portsmouth and hull City fighting out a 2-2 draw with Portsmouth’s right back Glen Johnson scoring one of the goals of the season after Peter Crouch had put Portsmouth 1-0 up in the 1st half and Michael Turner equalised with an header until an own goal from Pamarot at the death gave a share of the points.

Stoke City won the battle of the two promoted sides in a 1-0 home victory over West Brom. Sunday’s games didn’t fair much better with West Ham winning 1-0 away at Sunderland and Tottenham carrying on their great form with a 1-0 home victory over Blackburn rovers.
