I would like to say well done to all the 10 ICC members who voted in favour of a major overhaul of the rules for future One day and Test matches nations throughout the Cricketing world.

The introduction of these new rules will make it all the more better for supporters, players and umpires to enjoy the game of Cricket.
Each change will have a major effect on Cricket and will outlaw all the little cracks that teams could take advantage of in my opinion. The best new rule I feel is the referral of catching decisions to be now looked at by the third umpire, which will end the heartbreak of all the fans watching on television that have the benefit of replays and can clearly see when a player has conned the umpire and taken a catch which had just bounced before and there team have lost a batsmen when they should not have.
Another good change is the ending of players taking a ‘comfort break’ which seemed to be the norm nowadays when top players would take a hour or so break giving the 12th man a run out which frustrated many opposing captains as well.
In the one day game there have been pretty drastic changes also especially regarding the power play format with the batting side now being given the choice of when to take one of the two power players during the innings where before it was just left to the bowling side to make the decision.
The umpires have not been entirely left out of the new rules with another alteration giving the umpires the chance to reduce the interval between innings when the game has been delayed or interrupted.
But all in all I feel these new rules will make the game of Cricket a whole lot greater for the player and the spectator and I think it will generate new fans of the game which will be a great thing.
