The Royal Hunt Cup is always a big race for ladbrokes.com punters on day two of Royal Ascot with well-handicapped horses vying for the prize.

The heritage handicap over a mile looks to be at the mercy of the aptly named Bankable. The Luca Cumani trained colt is plenty short enough in the betting and that’s no surprise with a record that boasts just one defeat, on his debut, in five starts. It is true that the four-year-old is yet to win a really big race but won in the true style of a group horse when taking a listed contest at Goodwood at the end of May.

Connections have booked Frankie Detorri for the ride and he is a jockey who knows how to win at this meeting. The only concern would be the going, he’d prefer softer but barring any major disasters it should be a good race for favourite backers.

Next in the market, albeit a long way off the favourite is Lang Shining. Sir Michael Stoute’s charge is a consistent sort and already has one heritage handicap title to his name this season. In his favour he’ll have probably the best jockey around in Ryan Moore to pilot him home, there’s nobody braver or more competitive riding at the moment.

Likely to be of a similar price to Lang Shining is We’ll Come. Plenty of trips to the winner’s enclosure but only one as a winner perhaps suggest he is just lacking.
