This week we have witnessed two different cup finals in England and both have been highly entertaining to say the least.
First on Wednesday evening we had the Uefa Cup final played at (Eastlands) the home of Manchester City, between Russian outfit Zenith St Petersburg and Scottish team Rangers who both had made a remarkable achievements in reaching the final.
The game itself finished two nil to the Russians and to be honest during the game there only looked like being one winner but unfortunately will be remembered for all the wrong reason?s as many Rangers supporters (due to a big screen that was showing the game live failed to work in the City centre) decided to go on the rampage, attacking police and smashing up shops and parked cars leaving another black mark on British football supporters.
FA CUP
The cup this year was played out between two of the less fashionable teams in British football Portsmouth and Cardiff. But both served up a pulsating game that at times had me on the edge of my seat.
Cardiff from the Coca Cola championship certainly did not let their premiership opponents over run them and gave a good account of themselves missing a couple of good chances in a very even first half even though Kanus effort gave them a mountain to climb in the second half.
At the final whistle the score remained one nil to Portsmouth with Cardiff trying everything but just could not get the equaliser, giving One of Englands great managers of today Harry Redknapp his first piece of silverware which is totally justified after the work the man has put into the game over the years.
