Chelsea’s demolition of Sunderland at Stamford Bridge told us two things. First that the blues are definitely the team to beat for the premiership this season and are producing some football that is just world class. Second was the fact that Sunderland are still a side in need of belief and strength in depth in their squad. Manager Roy Keane had very few options to try and stem the Chelsea torrent of pressure.

We also learnt that Liverpool will continue to disappoint their fans in the league this season. Their defeat at the hands of Spurs was more about their inabilities in front of goal than the Tottenham revival. The reds’ squad also looks threadbare in most departments after the starting players, especially in the striking department. After Robbie Keane and Fernando Torres there is very little fire power while other areas of the team could suffer when injuries mount up during the busy festive period.

Manchester United are beginning to click into gear fully now but still are susceptible at the back. Hull City’s mini fight back will have Sir Alex pondering one or two things. Also Dimitar Berbatov is really beginning to justify his price tag.

Arsene Wenger continues to be a bad loser after two throw-in’s defeated Arsenal two-one. The Gunners’ boss is complaining that people are allowed to tackle his players- or so it seems.

We also learnt that the Manchester City Revolution as a long way to go yet after their inconsistency cost them against Bolton.
