Score West Ham 1 - Bolton Wanderers 1
First Half Run Down
West Ham United, certainly took the game to Bolton in the early stages and we all thought Lee Bowyer had squandered a great chance early on only for it to be ruled off side anyway. West Ham opened the scoring in the 19th minute of the game when Bolton failed to clear a corner and defender George McCartney rocketed in a superb goal, this was McCartney’s first ever goal for West Ham, but he was needed back in defence only a couple of minutes later when Bolton were on the attack, but they failed to make anything come of it. West Ham continued to soak up the pressure to the end of the first half and they always looked dangerous on the counter attack. The score line at half time remained 1-0 to West Ham.
Second Half Run Down -
At the start of the second half Etherington created a great chance for himself an made a great run into the penalty area, but as it turned out it was to no avail as his final finish lacked the power it needed. At the other end Nolan also failed to get enough power behind the ball to make his shot count. As the second half was drawing to a close, Bolton fans were setting themselves up for the defeat, but as we all know anything can happen in football and in the dying seconds of stoppage time Nolan put away a great goal after a slick pass from Michalik, giving Bolton the equaliser making the final score 1-1.
