www.coral.co.uk – Mal Meninga has pledged his allegiance to the QLD State of Origin side following speculation they he is a red hot favourite to take Ricky Stuarts’s national coaching position ahead of NSW coach Craig Bellamy.

Meninga, who is yet to taste defeat as a coach in state of origin football, was singled out to take charge of the now coach-less Kangaroos but according to Queensland Rugby League managing director Ross Livermore, Meninga has no intention of dropping his Origin duties in favour of the countries top spot.

Meninga has only just recently signed a three-year dear reportedly worth a substantial amount more than any offer that could be made for the role as national coach.

As if Meninga needs further reason to stay at qith Queensland, no Origin side, Blues or Maroons, has ever won four straight origin series and next year Mal and the Maroons will be looking to do exactly that.

At present, Queensland Rugby League have ruled out hiring a coach that also coaches a side in the NRL – and it seems to be working.

This year speculation was rife that Craig Bellamy disliked having to coach against a side that contained many of his Melbourne Storm stars.

Regardless of the speculation Bellamy has signed on for next year, hoping to ruin Meninga party,

Meninga has not ruled out ever coaching the green and gold but it at this stage it is highly unlikely that he will coach them in the next three to five years if ever.
