According to speculation, the world number one and quite possibly the biggest draw card in the history of the game is a big chance at traveling to Australia to play in eith next years Masters or Australian open.
There is also talk of hosting an extremely lucrative one of skins tournament in the hopes of guaranteeing a Tiger Woods return.
Woods has not graced an Australia golf course since 1998 when, as part of the Presidents Cup team, was beaten soundly by the Greg Norman led international contingent.
The reason for Tiger’s absence has not been through lack of trying – rather lack of funds.
It has always gone without saying that golf Australia would never be able to afford the superstar but the recent rise in the profile of Australian golf thanks to the likes of Geoff Ogilvy, Robert Allenby and Peter Lonard together with youn guns Adam Scot and Aaron Badeley – that appears to be changing.

Hardly chicken feed considering John Daly – a man once considered Wood’ equal – only received $50, 000 fro playing in the Masters.
Regardless of the hefty price tag, many believe it would be money well spent and an appearance by Tiger Woods at an Australian major would do Australian golf no end of good.
